My class is really enjoying the novel so far. We are finding that so far we are left wondering what is going to happen next. Jacob F. is wondering at this point when Jacob is going to go to the island to see who is there. We know that he is going because Dr. Golan convinced Jacob's parents that it would be a good idea because it would help "demystify" the stories that Grandpa Portman told him about the island. Cole indicated that he thinks that when he gets there he may give up on finding the orphanage because it will be hard to find.
One question Breanna has about the novel so far is what will happen if other people find out that the children are there and what their powers are. Austin is curious about what the monster actually looks like matches the description Jacob have to the police sketch artist.
I love the book so far. I really like how the book always leaves you hanging, like at the end of chapter five when Millard tells Jacob that Emma and him are stuck in a time loop and then the chapter just ends. This book always keeps me on the edge of my seat! Every night when I get home I have to stop myself from reading ahead and I'm not going to lie sometimes I have.
My two questions are:
1. Is Jacob going to be stuck in a time loop just like Millard and Emma?
2. when will Jacob finally get to know why his grandfather told him to go to the island in the first place?
I'm really enjoying the book so far. It's the best book I've ever read actually. I like it because itis about paranormal beings, mysteries, cliffhangers and horror. My 2 questions are:
1. Is Abe in the same timeline Jacob is in now?
If so will they meet each other?
2. Will Jacob see uncle boggie
My prediction is that Jacob and Emily will go to the orphanage, talk to miss peregrine and Emily will eventually learn to trust Jacob and so will everyone then the monster will show up and they will have to fight the monster.
Hey Mr Saumur its me Walter.
So far what i think of the novel is that it kind of brings out the light in every situation. As it showed Jacob had nightmares all the time but when he went to the island he stopped having them. I think this book is great because it grabs the readers attention and it makes you really try to anticipate the story and where it is going. Honestly what i think of the book so far is that its extraordinary.
Question 1: My first question is: Will Jacob have powers and if so, what would they be?
Question 2: My second question is: Does Emma grow fond of Jacob?
DONT MIND THIS. MY LAPTOP IS TERRIBLE!
I really enjoyed this book so far because, I love all of the little mysteries it has and I love all of the weird children like Emma and Millard!
I wonder what that animal/thing/person was in the bushes when Jacob was with Grandpa Portman when he said his last interesting words?
Jacobs in the past (I think) I wonder if he's going to meet Grandpa Portman when he's young and be with him through his childhood and go what Grandpa Portman went through? The war/bomb, when Grandpa Portman was in the orphanage and heard all those weird sounds and cheating on his wife.
Miss peregrine's home for peculiar children is one of the best books I've ever read. Not quite the best, but close. My predictions of the book from before are way off so far, but I'm enjoying seeing the differences from my previous thoughts. I really like the build up of suspense and how exciting it is to get to read a new chapter everyday. I also love the idea of being able to see a movie about the book afterwards. After seeing the prologue video, it confused me and I thought that Jacob was grandpa Portman... but now there has been clarification that no, grandpa isn't Jacob. I love this book so much and I'm excited to read more, but sad that it'll end. My friend and I were doing something during lunch with Mr saumur, and he left the book on a table in front of me so I took a peek a few of the pages, eventually flipping to the back cover. It said something about skme sequels to the book, but I'm not sure it's still about Jacob and the others.
Today we just finished reading the book. Usually when I'm finished reading something, I'm left with a previous adventure about the main character, but they always leave cliffhangers so I just have all these feelings of wonder as to what would happen next. But Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children satisfied my brain with a good plot and with all the adventure and excitement throughout the book, I didn't really mind that it ended. But it didn't really end, we are going to see a movie about it tomorrow, said movie people will be talking about for years to come. This was a 10.9/10 book in my opinion, the 0.1% is missing because I would've liked to have heard more about Ricky, he seemed cool. Anyhow, I applaud Mr.Riggs for creating such an exciting and wondrous book.
And my God am I dissapointed in the movie. It was exciting and the visuals were stunning but honestly the story went waaay too fast and Tim changed it too much. It might've been a better movie to me if I had not read the book beforehand. Tim Burton's movies are usually amazing, but honestly this one was just dull and uninteresting compared to the novel. When we were reading the book, I could conjure up lots of amazing pictures in my head while reading the book. But after watching to movie, the visuals of it were just stamped all over what I had thought everything looked like before. Of course I can't really blame them for missing out on so many details, you have to fit so many words and scenes into a movie ( average movie length around and hour and a half I'm guessing ) and it still was 2 hours long. The majority of my friends agreed that the movie just left us confused and unsatisfied, that it " sucked ". I was fooling around with my friend Emma literally the whole time we were at the theatre but I still managed to catch a ton of details from the movie. I just didn't like it, the book is far better than the movie, and it just left me with some bland memories of the rushed storyline. And why did Emma in the movie have huge eyes? It freaked me out a bit.
If I could choose to have a peculiarity I would choose the peculiarity Fiona has (she makes plants grow) I would choose this peculiarity because it would be fun to use for example let's say I'm playing hide and seek I could just grow a 20 ft. Wide bush and hide in it or if I'm playing tag and need a break I could just make a huge tree grow while I sit on it so I don't get tagged. I could also save the environment if it ever started dying!
nice choice, if you when to a lumber yard and they cut down one tree you grow two more
If I could choose a peculiarity I would choose to be able to make fire from my hands because it would be very useful. For example, if it's very dark and there are no lights you can just make light from your hands. Also, you can use it to defend yourself if you are in danger. Lastly, it would be much easier to make fires and other stuff like that.
I agree, but I would use the power to do cool stuff like shoot fire into the air.
It's like gravity falls but with cursing
Strange and filled with questions that get answered with character development as the plot rolls
when Jacob finds a monster it was like the first time Dipper finds the journal
I have a couple questions
1: if the monsters are real will Jacob fight them
2: did the kids move before the bombs hit if they died there would be some sign of remains
3: are Dylan and worm filler
4: actually I think I'm done
I do agree with rylee as it is how it is like gravy falls but with cursing
U spelt my name wrong it's Riley it's alright tho
I love the book so faw how it leaves you hang and I it is is super creative
I like the book so far, I think it is a very interesting book because he trying to dig into his grandfathers past to find out what may have killed his grandfather
Jacob started looking into his grandfathers past a year after he had died. He started digging into his fathers past in cainholm where he found the house that had gotten air raided.
Where was Jacobs grandfather when Cain holm got air raided?
Who or what killed grandpa?
I adore this book so far because of its creative imagination and its edge of your seat settings and mystery vibe.Of Jacob trying to discover his grandpas past and figure who killed him and maybe even more.....With everything going on its always makes me think of what his grandpa Portman meant and what Jacob is feeling of figuring out what happened In WW 2.
1:if Mrs.Peregrin was alive and so where her kids where are they and how they survived the bombing.
2:his Jacob more then what people think he his? is he peculiar?
I am enjoying this book so far for many reasons. The first is because it's constantly leaving cliff hangers to keep you wanting to read more. Not only that but the plot is very interesting and keeps you entertained and ready to read . For example, we don't know much about the peculiar children so far, so it keeps you wanting to read to find out more. It is very creative and imaginative which is perfect for a novel study.
Two questions I have are;
How does Mrs peregrine get up through the big to get to the house expecially since she's quite old. Jacob had trouble so I presume so would she.
Also, are the rest of the kids actually dead from the bombing, or are they just somewhere else.
I love the book so far, it is very dark but has it's funny moments. I loved it when Dylan and Worm came into play and decided to pull a prank on Jacob. I am thinking that when, and if, he finds the children, he is going to find himself in the same position as his grandfather was when he found the peculiar children, confused a bit but fascinated. This book has been keeping me on the edge of my seat and I am having a tough time not reading ahead. I am wondering how Jacob's dad is going to act when or if he finds out that Jacob went on his own.
Two questions i have are:
Are Dylan and Worm going to be of importance in this story?
What are the children going to bee like?
I am really liking the book so far
1 I wonder why the house is all torn up
2i wonder what the monster look like
The book is super good it leaves u hanging like in chapter four and it is creative like when Jacob fell in the poop
I'm really injoying the novel so far. It has a great mystery element with a tint of horror. The characters are funny and different. The book can be funny, but knows when to be serious when it needs to be.
My questions are:
1. How could Miss Peregrine have sent the letter if she died before the letters date?
2. Did Grandpa Portman date one of the girls from the house?
The mystery element comes from the mystery of if the kids at the house are alive or not, and the horror comes from the monsters. Jacob is a believable character, his dad is a lot like my step-dad so I can relate, and Worm and Dylan are just plain funny!
I like the book so far because when Jacob was trying to find miss peregrine and the particular children he was also trying to find the particular children and miss peregrine and when he finds them I bet Jacob would be fascinated and confused
1. Why did worm and Dylan leave Jacob half way to Jacobs destanation
2. What would Jacob say to mid peregrine and the particular
i like the book so far because it leaves you hanging on what's going to happen next. example: in chapter 4 it left me hanging on if he is going to find the peculiar kids on the island
1. I wonder if Jacob will find the peculiar kids some where on the island ?
2. wonder if martin is one of the peculiar kid
I really really like this book so far it is really great but I can't wait to see the movie I absolutely hate reading but this book is one of my fav :) :]! 2 questions I have are:
1) If Emma likes to help people why does she run away after?
2) Back in chapter 2 when the sketch artist comes why does he give the sketch back they always keep it for evidence!!!???
I am enjoying this book so far and am excited to find out who are the peculiar children and what their powers are. I am very curious about the connection between miss Peregrine and the peregrine falcon. I also like the mystery element in the book.
Did anyone actually find the children's remains? If not, how can the townspeople be sure they died?
Will Jacob eventually get over his paranoid fear of monsters?
I like the book so far
Will Jacob ever see the monsters again
And will he find what he's looking for
I am really liking the book we are reading called, "Miss Peregrines Home for Particular Children." One of the things I really like about the book so far is that I find after every chapter the last sentence always leaves you in suspense. For example: On page 15 the prologue ended, the last sentence was Jacob saying " Than, a few years later, when I was fifteen, an extraordinary and terrible thing happened, and there was only before and after." I really like it how the author does this because when we finish one chapter it always makes me fascinated and wondering about many questions about what could happen in the next chapter making me want to read more. I am having a hard time trying not to read ahead:)
Two questions I have would be:
1. What happened to Grandpa Portman's wife? Did she die?
2. I wonder in chapter one if the guy with the milky eyes who seem to have been blind, Ricky and Jacob saw watering his lawn. Was the monster that killed his grandpa? I think this because Jacob said on page 23 "Grandpa Portman never mentioned that one of his neighbors was blind" To which maybe he wasn't even a neighbor he could be the monster, but in descize. Who knows?
I have really enjoyed the book. It is kinda creepy but interesting at the same time. On page 24 the creature that Jacob describe was creepy; "It stared back with eyes that swam in dark liquid, furrowed
trenches of carbon-black flesh loose on its hunched frame, its mouth hinged open grotesquely so that a mass of long eel-like tongues could wriggle out." the interesting part was when Jacob met Uncle Oggie. Uncle Oggie told him about how that the children's home was bombed and only one survived. (which was Grandpa Portman)
The two question I have is
1. I wonder if the falcon that landed on Jacob's desk was Miss Peregrine?
2. Who wrote the "love" letter saying "I love you, I miss you, when are you coming back."
I am really liking the book "Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar children" so far. The amazing detail helps the reader to visualize what's going on. For example, when Jacob describes the old house he says " There were wooden toys moldering in a box; crayons on a windowsill, their colours dulled by a thousand afternoons." I also really like how the author includes the old photos in the book because it really helps you to get a sense of who these children were........or are.
1. Did Jacob actually visualize Emma or was she really there?
2. Why was Grandpa Portman the only person to survive the bombing of the house?
the book is so thrilling, i have it on my iPod and i want to read the whole book. i would never go to a mysterious island our down the basement. i love the adventure, but are the kids and miss peregrine alive and if they are not why did grandpa port man get a very new letter.
I really like this book so far. I like all the suspense. It always leaves cliff hangers like on the end of pg 15 it said "then a few years later when I was fifteen, an extrodinary and terrible thing happened and there was only a before and after" Also more suspense is why did grandpa Portman never tell Jacob about the other children?! The storey as so much suspense that you have to keep reading.
My two questions are:
1- what happened to grandpa portmans wife? Where did she go, did she die?
2- Is Jacob peculiar? Why did grandpa Portman go to the children's home with peculiar children if he "wasn't" peculiar? Did he have a power? "Sensing that the monsters are coming for him? So does Jacob also have a peculiar power?
i think its a great read and I am really excited for the end. I like how there are cliff hangers and a huge plot to the story that just keeps developing like when Jacob comes out of the cairn and has suddenly time warped witch I wood not have ever expected or how he gets the letter out of the book witch really got the story rolling because at the start of the book its a little slow
I wonder what a Wight is and if it can be connected to the man frome grandpa Portman's neighbor hood
I wonder if that monster Jacob saw was real or a hallucination
I love the book. Cant wait to see what happens next.
I really enjoy the book so far, there has been many cliff hangers that leave you on the edge of your seat. My favourite part of the book so far is when Jacob was in the time loop, and him and the children were watching the bombs. He says in chapter six ''then, like a movie that burns in the projector while you're watching it, a bloom of hot and perfect whiteness spread out before me and swallowed everything.'' I like it cause it's very unique and gives you a great visual. 1. I wonder what Emma means by "He is a wight do not trust him" 2. I wonder if Jacob will tell his father about the house.
I like the book so far it's really interesting. I like reading books with people with powers ther really the types of books I will read.
I wonder when miss peregrine will come.
I think Grandpa Portman's neighbor is a monster.
I am loving “Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children” so far. I love the way the book leaves you wanting to read more. For example at the end of every chapter it just gets into the good part and then stops you. In the book the main character Jacob is going through an emotional roller coaster, first his grandpa dies and then he almost gets killed. This really shows his personality with all the obstacles he has to overcome. Two questions I have about the book are: I am wondering if the bird that landed on Jacobs’s dresser was Miss Peregrine? I’m wondering this because his grandfather’s last words were to find the bird. Another question I have is when Jacob goes to the house again will his grandfather will be there now that Jacob is in the past? Dale Kenny
I like the book "Miss Perigrines Home for Peculiar Children" so far. At the end of each chapter you are always left wondering what's going to happen next. For example at the end of chapter three the last sentence says "I left the house feeling like i was farther than ever from the truth." That sentence alone makes you wonder about whats going to happen next and makes you want to read more.
Two questions i have about the book:
1) Will Jacob take Miss Pergrines offer and end up staying with the peculiar kids in the house?
2) Is the man with the milky white eyes a monster, did he kill grandpa Portman? is he what Emma says a wight?
I really like the book but I'm not really into it and that makes it hard for me to get my work done. I just don't understand why do we have to do work can't we just read for fun then go to the theatres and then maybe we can write a pharagraph on what was different between the book and the movie. I'm kind of confused I don't really know who grandpa Portman was cheating on with his wife and I wonder if the people in Jacobs time is still living their lives or if their time froze.
I think this novel is great. It makes you really try to anticipate the next move Jacob will make. Another reason why i think the novel is great is due to all the plot twists. when you think something will happen, something totally random will happen! I love the confusion! It helps you
have better brain storms and you get to be the smart one in class *Nudge Nudge* *Cough Cough*
Question 1: Will Jacob have powers? If so what would they be?
Question:2: Do you think Emma is starting to grow fond of Jacob?
I am enjoying this book so far becuase it always seems to be leaving me in suspense for example when Jacob woke up and found the bird in his room and it left us all wondering if it was miss Peregrine or not.But I would have to say by far my favorite part of the book is when Jacob went through the time loop and meant Emma and the rest of the peculiar children because it gave me a better understanding of what the children were really like and want they under go everyday being stuck in their own time loop. Even though this book always seems to leave me predicting what's going to happen next like when Jacob decided he wasn't going to go back to the house that left me thinking why would he give up now he has come so far and it also left me wondering what was he going to tell his father.
Two questions I have so far
1- Will Jacob go back into the time loop to visit miss Peregrine and the children?
2- What is a "wight" that Emma claimed Jacob was?
I like the book so far i like the way it leaves some things open for the reader to find out or come up with theories like the guy with the milk eys could be a wight or the docter is peculiar or if jacob or the grandpa have powers it uses these to lure you in because find out if these things are true or not
I love the book so far it's very exciting u never what's going to happen next. It's also
Mysterious beacause he has to dig through his grandpas past and find all the things his grandpa said to him.
1. I wonder if Jacob will get stuck in a time loop like Emma and Millard
2.i wonder where his dad when he is in the time loop
I really like the book because it is very interesting.it is interesting because in chapter 5 Jacob goes into the Cairn and when he comes out he realizes that he went back in time.when he goes to the bar the bar tender is different and the room up stairs is not for rent. Also the people in the bar think he's a German spy. I really wish I could read ahead.
Two questions I have are:
1.Will Jacob ever see his dad again.
2.Will there be more humorous events in the book.
John Luke is Jacobs's fake name
I am really liking the book so far because it is mysterious and fun. Also the book leaves u hanging. One thing I like about the book is that Jacob is trying to find Mrs.Peregrine because he wants to tell her that grandpa Portman died and he is trying really hard to find her and now Jacob is with Emma the girl that has fire coming out of her hands and Emma brought Jacob to Mrs.Peregrine
Two questions that I would have
Where is Jacobs dad
How dose Mrs. Peregrine know that Jacob is there and how dose she know where he is staying
So far i have enjoyed the novel. I like how the author has lots of cliffhangers at the ends of chapters. I also like the characters and character development. I hope the book contiues this throughout the rest of the book.
1.will Jacob stay with the peculiar children and miss.Peregrine?
2.what is a wight? What will Jacobs first incounter with one be like?
I really like how how the book is playing out so far like when Jacob appears in the loop, it really got me back into the book. I also like how the book is introducing tge new characters, for example when Emma held Jacob at knifepoint, I found that kinda funny.
1. I wonder what powers Jacob will have if he finds out he's peculiar?
2. How does one kill i wight?
I don't think that Jacob will fight monsters because it seems unlikely now in the middle
1: what exactly are wights
2: will they do anything
so far I am enjoying the book. I like how Jacob got to meet the kids his grandpa had always told stories about and how he entered the loop they are in. I also really liked the pictures that the author included in the book. but I find the book kind of predictable. an example of this is that is when the peregrine landed in jacob's room I didn't really find it very hard to predict that it was miss peregrine. also I find the book confusing at times like when he thought the stories were true and then he would change his mind the next minute and then change his mind again. but overall I am really enjoying the book.
my two questions are:
1. did grandpa portman have powers? because if he didn't why would he be at miss peregrine's house?
2. (so I looked up what wight meant and it said a "supernatural being") so does jacob have powers or could it have skipped his generation because the book said that it usually doesn't get passed on each generation?
I am really liking this book so far because it is exiting and fun. I also like how it leaves you hanging. my favouirt part so far is when Jacob meets mrs. peregrine and Jacob dosent know how to tell he that his grandpa (grandpa portman) is dead.
two questions I have are:
1 where and what happened to his grandma?
2 why did the auther not include the auther yet in the book?
I really enjoy the book so far, because it's very creative and you don't know what's going to happen next. All the characters are very thought out and there's always cliff hangers. I also love the pictures because it gives the book a mysterious effect. For example, in the prologue it has pictures of a few of the children that lived in the house, and it demonstrates their powers. One picture is of Millard, the invisible boy, and another is of Emma, the girl who can make fire with her hands.
Two questions I have are...
1. Is Jacob peculiar?
2. Does Jacobs father ever find out that Jacob knows these children?
I think that this book is kinda like Doctor Who when Jacob goes through the cairn and then sorta time travels to September 3 1940.
1- I wonder if Jacob goes through the cairn so many times that it breaks it and can't get back to his father.
2- I wonder if Jacob keeps going into the cairn that he won't age as quickly as he would have.
I like the book so far because each chapter has something new and exciting in it, for example in chapter 5, he goes to the children's home but it's all broken and runned down then in chapter 6 he enters the loop and goes to the "real" house or the nice house and sees that it's just like what is grandpa described.
1. Was grandpa Portman peculiar and is Jacob peculiar?
2. Why were some of the kids at the runned down house when Jacob was there?
I think the book is going well. I like how Jacob was keeping a secret from the children that grandpa Portman is dead. This way the children won't get angry at Jacob if he tells them. I also like how he found the cairn and everything has changed. I don't think he's going to find his dad again question 1 im wondering if Jacob has some sort of super power
question 2 - is Jacob going to find his dad again
I really like the book because it keeps leaving us on a cliffhanger. The pictures are probably my favourite part because anytime a picture pops up we get closer to figuring something out. I'm surprised that Jacob hasn't questioned the carin because he went in and then came out and the time was different and it's weird that he hasn't asked any questions about it.
My two questions are...
1.is Jacob going to go back to the normal time with his dad
2.is Jacobs dad going to believe I'm about finding the house and going to the 1940's
I'm really enjoying the book right now it leaves me in so much suspense such as when Jacob said something horrible happened when he was 15 and there was only before and after I was so curious and to read on also when Jacob went in to the cairen I really wanted to find out what would happen in there if he would catch Emma or not. Do feel that at some points in the book it can get a little boring but that could just be me.
Two question I have is
Will Jacob dad ever find out where he is during the day
And number 2 is...
Will the rest of the children find out about Grandpa Portman
I am enjoying this book so far because the peculiar child's powers I always want to know more about them and miss Peregrine. I didn't know what to think when miss Peregrine said, "only bird can make the loops" and that got me wondering about other peculiarity around the world and how miss peregrine know them all.
•Do Emma and Jacob have a thing?
•how many People are Peculiar there?
I like the book so far because it's very interesting and always leaving you hanging, for example about the sheeps and who killed them, and not knowing who actually killed them wether it was a actual person or possibly a "monster"?
Who killed the sheep?
I wonder what's going to happen between Emma and Jacob and if it'll become something or not because they were flirting with eachother?
One thing I have not enjoyed about the book is that I think so far it's boring. An example of when it's been boring is the fact that it is a fantasy book. I am not very interested in the peculiar children and their abilities because it isn't really my style. I prefer reading a book with more action in it.
1) Is there going to be more action soon?
2) Is Jacob going to take his dad or family members to the house?
I really like it but at the same time I'm not really into it its taking way to long for them to actually do something like battle or figure out that grandpa Portman is is dead. I like it because there are really good words, their are people with powers and the author is really good at describing what is going on with the right amount of detail.
Question 1. Who was grandpa Portman cheating on with his wife and that's if Jacobs dad was telling the truth!
Question 2. How long is Jacob staying there for and if its a while would his dad get worried or is there like a copy of Jacob when he's at the orphanage and when he returns the copy of him disappears.
I think of all the powers in Miss Peregrines Home for Pecluiar Children, I would have to go with having Claire's back mouth. Think about it! I could never be strangled, and would be able to freak people out (I do love a good spook).
However, if I could choose what pecluiararty I could have, I would love to have ferrokinesis. Ferrokinesis is the ability to control metal, much like Magneto from X-Men. I would be able to open my locker without trying, get things made if metal out of the fridge, and more!
Heidi that isn't a bad idea to have a back mouth. I mean thinking about it now its a good reason to have one so you don't die by losing air.
Also being able to control metal is awesome because you might be lucky if your enemy your fighting (or just mad at) have metal on them so you can just control them or that object he or she has on them.
What if you grow your hair out and the back mouth decides to start eating your hair
I think this would be very useful! especially when I want to freak my class mates out ;)
If I was peculiar like the kids from the book or the movie. It would be to control air which in the movie Emma had. Because well almost anything revolves around air so I can almost like control those to. Also because in the movie is was really help to the peculiar kids trying to save miss peregrine.
But if I were to make or choose one that wasn't from the movie I it would be a power I made up. Which is like I have a deck of cards and you choose two of the. And it combines those to things on the card together to make a weapon or an objects. But the thing is there's also dark cards where it's like it a hollow or something. Why I choose this because I found it really cool. I also choose this because it's a unique thing to like see hown two that maybe completely opposite things can be used in a situation.
I like your card deck idea because of how creative and original I also like that you included the dark cards
Air would be useful! You'd always have access to the power! Also I love how with your card thing that it isn't all good and that it could backfire!
if I had a power from the novel I would chose Emma's power of fire because its a great and useful power to have I could boil water quickly for a lot of foods tea coffee I could back food do meatal work most forms of power rely on heat like steam and cola and even nuclear power is a big steam turbine so I think I could do all sorts of good
It wouldn't be a bad idea to have Emma's power of fire because you are not always near a power outlet or some type of energy source
I think that's a good idea because you could also use it as a weapon to defend yourself
if I could have a peculiar power I would be able to turn into any animal I touch frank zhang in Percy Jackson and the heroes of Olympias because then I could be a bird and fly through a blue sky or a fish swimming through the sky or I could be a cat or dog making a kid in the hospital happy or I could make animals in the vet happy, because if I could turn into any animal I touch, then I can make myself and others happy.
I will be doing the power someone else chose in just a sec
I think this power would be awesome to have, you could be whatever you want. But if you were being other animals and people you wouldn't be yourself and you would not have your own personality. But I think it would suit you Austin because you are very creative and would make your power work.
does anyone have ideas for peculiar powers
If I had a preculiar power I would want to be like Emma in the movie because I would be able to take anyone out that was in my way with the excessive amount of air that i would have. Along with that I would also use it for getting somewhere faster if I was in a hurry.
If I had the chance to choose a particular power from all of the awesome particular powers I would pick Fiona's power. I would pick Fiona's power because I think it would be awesome to control and grow vegetables and fruits when ever you want. For example in the movie Fiona grew a huge carrot in the garden in an instant for dinner. Another reason I would like to have this power would be if there was an emergency or if I was in danger I could grow some type of plant to save me. For example in the movie Fiona grew a tree branch to help them escape from the hollow.
That would be a cool peculiarity to have.
I think that it would be a cool peculiarity to have because you could grow whatever you want whenever you want and you could have fresh fruit and vegetables every single day.
I think that power would suit you Blake. It would be like whenever your hungry you just grow something.
you would be great at food fights
I think that would be a very cool and helpful power to have! It would be great to be able to eat whenever you want.
If I had to choose a peculiar power from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children I would choose Olive's power from the novel. I think it would be amazing to be able to float around and not have to walk places. It would also be helpful to have that peculiarity because then I could get things like kites out of trees or reach things on the top shelf. Like in the novel when the children get their ball stuck in a topiary Olive floated up and grabbed it.
It would be cool! I think it would feel like your in space all the time
If I could have a peculiarity it would be Olive’s peculiarity in the novel Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children. In the novel Olive can float but she cannot control it very well so when she wants to walk she has to ware special shoes to keep her on the ground and when she wants to float someone has to tie a rope around her and hold on to it. I would want this peculiarity because I would be able to walk and float whenever I want it would also limit the use of transpiration and be fun to float up in the sky. A big challenge with this peculiarity would be if you were by yourself you could not float because no one can hold you down. So if I could float but control it would be my peculiarity.
Dale this totally suits you. in my mind I see you just floting.
If I were to have a peculiar power it would have to be Bronwyn's. It would be so much fun to just go and be able to lift stuff. For example in the movie after Fiona grew the carrot Bronwyn came over and just pick it out of the ground and walked away with it. Another example would be in the book when Dr. Golan was shooting at them, Bronwyn pulled the door off the U-boat and carried it as a shield.
If I was a peculiar child I would want to have Phionas power. To be able to grow things with my hands. This peculiarity would be helpful to me and my family because I could grow my dads crops for him, grow my grandmas veggies led and grow deer food for my brother. I would like to be able to grow things so it's healthier, it would be healthier because you won't have pesdicides etc. Also you wouldn't have to mend fields because it would grow fast! I also like this peculiarity because I could make food without spending money. Maybe I could grow beans for homeless people. This prculiarity could be useful for so many people and things that's why I'd want this peculiarity.
if I were to have a peculiar power I would want to have Millard's power to be able to be invisible. I would want this peculiarity because then I could lift people's pets in the air and it would look like they were hovering. also I would go around town tripping people and throwing foods at people because they wouldn't know where it came from and would be very confused. also I would say that I was at school but since you wouldn't be able to see me I would probably just go somewhere else.
If I were to have a power I would want to have brownyns power of super strength. There is so many times when I have to move things out of the way and it's way to heavy so If I were to have super strength I wouldn't have that problem. Also since I am a gymnast and you need to be super strong and have to go through a lot of very hard conditioning to get stronger, it would be amazing if I was just naturally strong. It would also be very cool in general to have that power and it would be very impressive to others. In conclusion this is why I would love to have the power of super strength.
I agree with Lily that having super strength could be extremely useful and handy in an everyday life.
i also agree with lilly because i think that super strength could be very helpful everyday
Nice I think that it would be a cool power to have if a weakling need help you could help him:)
I would like to have Miss peregrines peculiar power because she has the power to turn into a bird and control loops. If I could control a loop, I could re-live the day over 'n' over again. If I could turn into a bird, I could finally live a dream and fly.
that would be cool to fly around but then remember that you would have to have someone hold you up
If I could have a peculiar power, I would like to have Brownyns power. I would like this power because when ever I have to run a race or swim a race, I always get tired fast and if I had super strength I would go so much faster. Another reason is because every time I arm wrestle someone, they are most likely right handed and I'm left handed so if I has super strength it wouldn't matter what hand id use, I'd always win!
Cool beans bro!
if I could choose one of the many powers from the book/movie I would have to choose Millerds power because I could scare people do stuff I wanted and people cant see and sneak in to the movies and stuff like that
that would be awesome to scare people I didn't think of that. it would be awesome to sneak into shops movies or sneaking toward the candy/cookies.
I think cole would be good at scarying people
ps u spelled millard wrong
i think that is smart sneaking in to movie and scaring people because you could sneak into movies for free
But no will like u for that
If I could choose one peculiarity it would be Horace's peculiarity to be able to have accurate dreams about the future and project them with my eyes. I think this would be a cool peculiarity because I have always wanted to be able to see the future and projecting them with my eyes would be even better. :)
I think that's really cool Shae but quite sure that I would like sharing my dreams and shooting light out of my eyes
OMG I can totally see you doing that!! Good choice! i was actually thinking of that one but I chose Emma's peculaiarity in the book!
If I were to have a ' peculiarity ', I think I'd choose the ability to read minds. That would be amazing right? You could know more about how others' brains work, and you could collect information about people and figure out who seems the most interesting and maybe approach them and attempt to become friends with them. You could also learn more in different ways, such as learning the ways people work through things, and you can use these examples for your own fixings. If somebody else you knew has that peculiarity as well, you could communicate with them in silence. Also you'd be able to tell if somebody thinks you're an idiot lmao.
lol I think that peculiarity would really suit you because we could just wander around wearing something really weird and then know what the people are thinking (which would probably be silent judging) then you can just walk up to them and say "How dare you think about my style that way! You try walking around dressed like this see how you like being judged!" then that would totally just confuse them so much and it would be funny. XD
That would be pretty cool. I imagine if you had that power you would win at heads up and stuff like that.
yeah, but what if you read something you dont want to hear? or shouldnt?
if I could have one peculiarity I would pick Jacobs peculiarity because if there was a hollow in miss peregrins house I would be able to see it and tell everyone just to keep them safe. for example when Jacobs grandfather gets killed by a hollow Jacob could see it and no one believed him they even got a artist to come in and draw what it looked like but the didn't believe him. when we were reading I was thinking if I could have one peculiarity I would want Jacobs.
I think I would either want to be Olive or Millard because Olive can levitate and control air but Millard can sneak up on people and he's just invisible and that's really cool
I totally agree those would be interesting peculiarity's❣
If I had to chose a peculiar power it would have to be telekenisis so I could know what people thought about me and so I could pick stuff up and throw to defend my self. There are no examples in the movie of this power
To me that would we be a very cool and useful power. I would love to be able to pick up my brother and throw him across the room sometimes. I think this would be a great thing to have in life.
Omg sooo true that's another good one!
If I had to chose a power I think I would chose the power to fly. I would chose this because it would a really great thing to have for a few reasons. Number one - it would be great to fly because you wouldn't have to pay for a car and you wouldn't have to learn how to drive. Another reason it would be great would be because you wouldn't have to get rods from anyone, you could just go wherever you want whenever you want. Anyways that's why I'd chose the power to fly
I would love to have the peculiarity of controlling fire from my hands because, say if you were stranded on an island and you had no fire what so ever, you could cook food, have a fire making you warm. Also, another reason why I would like to have this peculiarity is because, you could defend yourself with fire to! if someone's trying to badly hurt you, you hurt them! :D
Jess that would be very useful. I think that would suite you very much, I don't know I just kind of see you be able to produce fire from your hands
If I were to choose one peculiarity it would be to create fire by the flick of my hand. Firstly, I would choose it because my name is Emma, Emma is the one that makes fire in the book so it would make perfect sense for my peculiarity, right? Also, I would choose this peculiarity because then I could make anything warm and I could create a fire light or candle light with the flick of a finger. I would use it for lots of reasons (most likely not very useful reasons but we will see what happens) First of all I would use it for friends or family, say, there was a big family get together but no one brought a lighter to light candles, then I could just use my hand and it would be a perfect party. I would also use it if I needed to light a fire in the woods or something to create warmth. Another reason would be so that I could be awesome, I mean seriously, would I not be like really cool (or really warm. I'm sorry for the cringey, bad pun) if all of a sudden I could just make fire out of thin air with my hands? I think so. But anyway, I think it would be awesome to make fire with my hands for all those reasons (and probably more that I can't think of right now).
Good choice it suits you well because of your name and wow you wrote a lot. I like how you have a lot of detail.
oh that's cool
If I could choose a peculiarity I would choose to be able to make fire because it can be very useful. For example, if it's very dark and you need a light you can just make light from your hands. Also, you can use it to defend yourself. Lastly, if you need to light something on fire for example a candle, it would be very easy because you have fire in your hands
If I could choose a peculiarity I would choose
Emma's peculiarity in the novel which is fire. It could be useful when your cold you have fire in your hands or when it's dark and you don't have a flashlight Also u can defend yourself . The challenges would be that you could really hurt someone that you didn't want to hurt.
I would want to be able to have the fire power also. I would want to have to fire power because if I ever got cold I could just make a fire or something to make me warm. Some advateges are that when u are cold you can get warm or if u are mad you can light stuff on fire
if I had to choose any peculiarity I would choose Emma's fire hands. it would be really cool because when you were out in the wild and you needed a fire you could just produce a fire from your hands and put it on the ground. A bad thing about having that power would be you would have to wear gloves or else every thing you touch would go in fire. Another con is you might not be able to control it.
if I had a peculiarity I would want to have enochs. I would want to have enochs because u can take organs out of sheep and bring dead things back to life
so u could bring back your great grama
I think I would like Enoch's ability to bring people back to life because It would be awesome to bring back peoples pets back to life if the die and people would love me because there like oh no my cat died and am like nope and just bring there cat back to life but I also kind of sucks in the sense that id be very limited to who I can bring back to life out of respect and grave robing's illegal so id get arrested so ya well that's what power id like
Ill help you with your grave robbing problem........
(you could just use animals to)
I would chose to have to have invisibleite because I could serf in the war and no 1 can see me
cool I would like to do that
I would like to be invisible because I would not need to do my hair in the morning. I would not need to go to school and get dressed. the bad thing no one will see me so I couldn't talk to anyone. Also no one would know I was there so no one would be my friend.
I think that's a good idea because it would be cool to be invisible and I think you have good ideas.
I also would like to be invisible
I made mine up I would be able to draw anything and when I put a check mark beside it comes to life like when I draw 1,0000000 dollars it would come to life.
a awesome idea
That would be cool
I would choose to be invisible because nobody could see you and you could sneak into places. I would sneak into a candy shop and the movie theatres. If you get caught they would want to study you,.
but u would have no friends to play with and no 1 can see u
If I had the choice to pick a peculiarity I would choose Emma's gift from the book, which was creating fire in her hands. I would pick this because I could use this to protect myself if I was ever in danger. If I went out camping or got lost I would have a source of heat and light to help me. A con to having this gift would be, if I forgot to put my gloves on, or I couldn't control my power, I could easily set people or objects on fire without meaning too.
One peculiarity I would like to have is invisibility like Millard. I would like to be invisible because I could skare people and I could also steel money from stores. That's why I want to be invisible
I wohould have telekinesis because there's a lot of things you can do with it for example you can bend and move things with your mind and see the future and control people minds there would be so many benefits to it I could pick things up from a distance I could stop wars with mind control I could check the future and see what's going to happen if I change things or leave it as it is but I'd probably do stupid things like open doors and turn on TVs or grab things from afar
My peculiarity would be to copy ones abilities for 10 mins by touching them
That would be cool.
That is a good peculiarly and if I had that and touch a villain what I would do I mimic there way of fighting style and try to defeat them in under 10 minutes
that would be cool but would they lose there peculiarity? if so I cant high five you any more :3
If I had a peculiarity it would be super speed. I think this would be a good peculiarity to have because it would be useful for survival for example if I was being chased by hollows I could simply outrun them to survive. Also super speed might have been useful at the lighthouse to run up and take Dr. Golan's gun before things got out of hand.
My peculiarity would be us to have super strength because I can help people that are stuck under something and I could help someone get out of the way if they were about to get hit by a car. One of the bad resons is that I have to save people and I would be very tired.
If I had the choice to have my own power I would chose Olive's power because I think it would be extremely useful. For example if I needed something that none could reach I could simply float up and get what I need. It could also be very useful for saving someone or something that might have fallen and needs to be put back that no one can reach and may or may not take to much time for someone to climb up. I could also use it as a way to get away from something for example if something was chasing me instead of trying to out run it I could simply float away from it.
If I could choose a ability I would choose to have the ability to be really fast. The good thing about having the ability to be really fast would be that I would never be late for things (class). And it would also be helpful in sports for example the one hundred in track.
hello my power / peculiarity would be taking anything for a movie /game and using it in real life this would be help full in a couple of ways like getting place's faster for example using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device to teleport to place's. another way this is help full is construction for example the mattermanipulator from starbound or the physics gun from Garry's mod though hard to use there really help full tools for almost every thing! and finally medicine there are tunes of examples for this in faced to many, cures for cancers and diseases and well almost any thing. there's tunes of ways this can be help full(and really fun to have),convenient and handy in almost every situation that's way I chose it(totally not because that would be sick to mess around with :3)
That would be SO AWESOME!!!!! also you'd be pretty famous if you made medicines from Rick and Morty or even fallout
If I had a peculiarity, I would definitely love to be telepathic, the ability to read peoples minds. I think this would be a fun peculiarity because you could always know what people are thinking. For example, if you asked for someone's opinion, they could lie to you, but you read their mind and know what they're actually thinking. Also, you would be able to know when someone's planning a surprise and so you'd know how to act when it happened. But the downsides are, that maybe you read someone's mind and they're thinking about you in a negative way and it could make you sad, or if they're lying to you about something in a bad way. Anyways, that's the peculiarity I would want.
If I could choose to have a peculiarity I would choose the peculiarity Fiona has (she makes plants grow) I would choose this peculiarity because it would be fun to use for example let's say I'm playing hide and seek I could just grow a 20 ft. Wide bush and hide in it or if I'm playing tag and need a break I could just make S huge tree grow and just sit in it. The only bad part of this peculiarity is if I fell from my tree.
My power would be to be invisible so I could sneak into class if I was late then you could also help if there were criminals that the police.
I chose the pet smart commercial, it was about dogs that have just come from the pet smart grooming station. The dogs all looked happy and really fluffy and soft. This company used pathos to create their commercial. I know they used Pathos because, they used an emotion to try to get you to bring your dog to pet smart grooming. They aimed to pull your heart strings by showing these dogs, they got me... that was the emotion. The persuasive technique used was in my opinion bandwagon. I think it was bandwagon because pet smart was saying that they are an amazing grooming place and you should use them to be like everyone else. The music in the back round keeps saying "baby there worth it" I think they are implying that your not a good pet owner if you don't take your pet because you don't think there worth it. I think that they direct this commercial at pet owners, obviously an adult because you would be paying for it and taking the pet there. Gender wouldn't matter in this commercial because its just directed at pet owners.
